BECTU members at Kings Place, an arts hub and concert venue in Kings Cross, London, have agreed to a range of pay increases after a successful round of pay negotiations.

This month (July 2014) permanent staff will receive a 2.5% increase in pay, whilst casual staff will benefit from an increase in the minimum hourly rate from £8.00 to £8.60, increasing to £8.80 in April 2015. (£8.80 is the current level of the London Living Wage).

Management have also agreed to significant payments for missed meal breaks and bank holiday working.

Gus Baker, organising official, said:

“We’re pleased to see significant progress being made at Kings Place towards the Living Wage and better conditions for staff. Management have entered a constructive dialogue with the union for the benefit of all.
