BeeSmarter – 24 Mobile Programmer Team Competition supported by Telekom

PázmányPéterCatholicUniversity (PPKE-ITK), jointly with the Association of Hungarian Electric Engineer and IT Students (MAVE) and Magyar Telekom announce a two round mobile programmer competition named BeeSmarter. Organizers primarily expect the nomination of three member university and secondary school teams. The 10 best secondary school teams and the 10 best university teams of the electronic pre-qualifier organized on February 1-3, 2013 will advance in the 24 hours final to be held in Budapest in March.

Teams participating at the BeeSmarter competition can demonstrate their skills on the most popular platforms: Android and iOS. The best teams of the electronic pre-qualifier advance into the final to be organized on March 2-3, 2013 at the Technology Faculty, where the 2-3 member strong teams will be challenged with exciting and timely tasks.

Teams can apply for the pre-qualifier of the competition by January 31, 2013 under the address of http://beesmarter.org.

Further to good algorhytmic skills, the competition will require participants to demonstrate engineering, telecommunication, image processing and other skills in the field of natural sciences. With the latter two tasks the two organizers Pázmány Péter Catholic University and with the Association of Hungarian Electric Engineer and IT Students wish to direct attention to new types of engineering IT challenges, specifically bio-IT. At the competition nominations are expected from university, secondary school students, as well as professionals of the industry. Magyar Telekom supports the organization of the competition as main sponsor - contributing tools and prizes - while portal [origo] also offers professional assistance.

Student and lecturers of the university and the association also take part of organizing the competition.
