Sun Hung Kai Properties’ Beijing APM won a 2010 Golden Compass Brand New Shopping Experience of the Year award. The honours were given out according to the results of a consumer and media poll by the Life Style Media Group. Beijing APM has been recognized for excellence in shop mix, facilities and customer service.

The Golden Compass recognizes exceptional shopping malls and department stores. The Life Style Media Group’s Consumption and Fashion Research Institute surveyed high-spending consumers and asked them to evaluate malls and department stores on shop mix, management, facilities, services and consumer experience. Media assessments were also considered.

Beijing APM is a prime development at the heart of Wanfujing with a million-plus square feet of retail space and a modern, elegant design. It appeals to young shoppers with a wide selection of popular international retailers, including the three-storey Nike Beijing store and American apparel brand Gap’s first mainland outlet: a two-storey, 12,500-plus-square-foot store that opened at the end of 2010.

There are also popular retailers like Zara, Uniqlo, Tough Jeansmith and Bread n Butter, plus mainland’s first Itacho Sushi flagship store. The mall also provides complimentary services such as wheelchair, stroller and umbrella loans, mobile phone charging and Wi-Fi access.

Promotions and festive events featuring Beijing pop idols are held from time to time. The mall’s Chinese-style exterior walls will be refurbished to enhance the image, making it a trendy spot for leisure and entertainment.
