(PressReleasePoint) Bhuwan Thapaliya‘s first collection Our Nepal, Our Pride Paperback (pp: 182) ISBN: 978-81-8253-115-4 Publisher: Cyberwit.net Pub. Date: 2008 reflects all that is spontaneous and unaffected in the world of love, peace and understanding. The poet’s sharpened sensibilities and heightened imaginative feeling are visible in such immortal lines:

They can
take my
sight away
but not
my vision of freedom

They can
cut my
tongue into pieces
but not
my voice of freedom
(Suppression, I accept not)

I’ve seen the thorn
blossom into the rose.
And the roses
wither into dust.
(A thing of beauty isn’t a joy forever to me)

Thapaliya reveals an intense desire to create an ideal world. His great poetic talent like a superb sunrise is sure to inspire and attract people not only in Nepal but also other nations; for it draws its sustenance from such universal emotions which find an echo in every person’s heart.

It is matter of great joy that Nepal Tourism Board is launching Thapaliya‘s first collection Our Nepal, Our Pride. This will definitely add to his readership and international prestige. I’m happy to say that this book will also be launched at the international literary festival WORDS – one path to peace and understanding Oslo 18 – 20 September 2008.
