Biddle Appointed President & CEO of Plumas Bank & Plumas Bancorp

QUINCY, California, October 7, 2005 –  The Board of Directors announced that Douglas  N. Biddle has  been appointed the president and chief executive officer of Plumas Bancorp, the bank holding company and parent company of Plumas Bank.  Most recently he was president and chief operating officer of  Plumas Bank and executive vice president and chief operating officer of Plumas Bancorp. William E. Elliott, Biddle's predecessor, officially retired on October 5, 2005  after 18 1/2 years of leadership. Elliott will continue to be involved in the company as a member of the board.

Chairman of the board, Jerry Kehr, commented,  "Doug recognizes the big benefits that a community bank like ours can deliver to its public, and is enthusiastic about the opportunity to demonstrate these benefits to consumers and business owners." He concluded, "On behalf of the entire board, we congratulate Doug and look forward to the continued success of the company."  

Biddle has been with Plumas Bank for over 15 years. He moved to Quincy and joined Plumas Bank in 1990 as senior vice president and chief administrative officer. In 2000 he was promoted to executive vice president and chief administrative officer, and in March, 2005 he was promoted to president and chief operating officer. Biddle has played a vital role in assisting Bill Elliott in the management of the Bank for several years.

Biddle commented  “It is an honor to follow Bill Elliott as president and chief executive officer of Plumas Bancorp. I am looking forward to the challenge of leading and supporting the outstanding employees of Plumas Bank, who daily demonstrate such dedication to the customers and communities we serve.”

A lifelong Californian, he was born in Fairfield and graduated from the University of California at Davis with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. He received his Master’s of Business Administration from the John Anderson School of Management at the University of California at Los Angeles. He and his wife Barbara have three grown children. Mr. Biddle is an active member of his church, and enjoys camping, golf, tennis and bridge.
