It has been three years since the sounds of Bird Manicini have graced our ears. Funny Day was released in 2007 to critical acclaim and now a new release is on the horizon.

Tuning In, Tuning Out is set for release on November 16, 2010. Ruby Bird and Billy Carl Mancini return again in fine form with their highly anticipated follow up to the successful 2007 release. The same buzz and excitement is certain to follow with the new recording.

The title track, which is available for a free download on the band’s site for a limited time, is certain to be earmarked for a single and heavy airplay while the rest of the album harkens back to Beatles Sgt. Pepper era pop-rock and Pink Floyd like soundscapes at times with vocal treatments that sound like a combination of the two legendary bands combined. “(I Want My Own) Brian Epstein” is tip of the cap to the deceased Fab Four manager and every indication of where their influences emanate from. Things get turned upside down when Ruby belts out a jazz filled gig titled “Didn’t Last Long”, indicative of the all-around talent and eclectic offerings Bird Mancini can afford their listeners.

Bird Mancini creates music that is hard not to like and the duo of Billy’s guitar and Ruby’s accordion are a unique combination that sets them apart from the worldwide indie music crowd. Similarly their vocal styles are separate entities yet they make each track a unique journey.
