Bit Miracle announces the release of LibTiff.Net 2.0

Omsk, Russia, August 9, 2010 — Bit Miracle, a digital imaging and portable document format (PDF) software company, today introduced the newest version of its free development library, LibTiff.Net 2.0.

LibTiff.Net is free and open source development library for reading and writing TIFF images. The library is a version (port) of classic LibTiff library written using C# with a goal to provide application programming interface (API) that is very close to the classic one.

What’s new in LibTiff.Net 2.0:

- Silverlight support - LibTiff.Net can now be used in Silverlight applications. There is also Silverlight test application that can be used as a sample.
- Visual Studio 2010 support - Now Visual 2005, 2008 and 2010 can be used to build LibTiff.Net.
- Speed - Speed optimizations have been performed.
- Improved quality - New version fixes many bugs in library and utilities code.
- New utility - Tiff2Rgba program added to distribution. This application can be used to convert TIFF images to RGBA color space.
- Documenatation and samples - New version ships with greatly improved documentation and samples.
- More liberal license - Starting from version 2.0, LibTiff.Net is freely available for all uses under a BSD license.
