The draws for the 2014/15 Women’s National Cricket League (50 over) and Women’s T20 competitions were revealed today with the Lend Lease Breakers set to play home matches at Blacktown International Sportspark, Manly Oval and the Sydney Cricket Ground.
The Lend Lease Breakers are one of Australia’s most successful domestic sporting teams having won the last nine consecutive WNCL titles in a row.
In keeping with previous seasons, the Breakers will play three rounds in Sydney with each round consisting of two WT20 matches and one WNCL fixture against the same opposition.
The Lend Lease Breakers will start their campaign for a 10th successive WNCL title on October 11 against the ACT Meteors at Blacktown International Sportspark, while their quest to reclaim the WT20 trophy will begin a day earlier.
This is one of two rounds which will be played at Blacktown International Sportspark, with the Breakers set to take on Western Australia there in three matches starting on December 12.
NSW’s third round of home matches, against Tasmania, will be split between the Sydney Cricket Ground and Manly Oval.
The Sydney Cricket Ground will host a WT20 match between the two sides on Friday, December 19, as part of a KFC T20 Big Bash League double header with the Sydney Sixers.
Saturday’s WNCL match and Sunday’s second WT20 fixture will then be played at Manly Oval.
The Final of the WT20 competition will be played at Manuka Oval in Canberra on January 28 as a double header with the KFC T20 Big Bash League Final, with the women’s match also set to be broadcast live on Channel 10.
The Semi Finals of the WNCL will be played on January 23 with the top two teams hosting. The top ranked team after the Semi Finals will then host the Final on January 25.
