Office Move Increases Space by 45%, Providing More Room forBluetoothDevice Testing and Qualification

KIRKLAND, WA – Jan. 22, 2010– The Bluetooth Special Interest Group, Inc. (SIG) has expanded its presence in North America, moving its headquarters from Bellevue to Kirkland, WA. The move gives the industry leading trade organization over 45% more space in which to run operations for the creation and promotion ofBluetoothwireless technology.

“This office move is the physical representation of the very hard and productive work we have undertaken, and all we have accomplished in the introductions of two new versions of the Specification over the past year,” said Michael Foley, Ph.D., executive director of the Bluetooth SIG.

Added Foley: “In our new office space, we have a larger, state-of-the-art lab for device testing and demonstration. We invite all of the Bluetooth SIG members to visit the lab as they work to design and manufacture newBluetoothdevices utilizing both theBluetoothlow energy and high speed specifications.”

The Bluetooth SIG staff previously located in Bellevue will now office in Kirkland. Reasons for choosing Kirkland include location, amenities promoting a healthy lifestyle within a new building, competitive market pricing, and a larger space that allows for future growth.

The Bluetooth SIG maintains its global presence, including offices in Hong Kong, Beijing, China, Seoul, Korea, Minato-Ku, Tokyo, Taiwan and Malmo, Sweden.

AboutBluetooth® Wireless Technology

Bluetoothwireless technology is the global short-range wireless standard for personal connectivity of a broad range of electronic devices. The technology continues to evolve, building on its inherent strengths – small-form factor radio, low power, low cost, built-in security, robustness, ease-of-use, and ad hoc networking abilities. This evolution now provides manufacturers and consumers with three options for connecting wirelessly – classicBluetoothtechnology for use in a wide range of consumer electronics;Bluetoothhigh speed technology for the transfer of video, music and photos between phones, cameras, camcorders, PCs and TVs; andBluetoothlow energy technology for low power sensor devices and new web services within the healthcare, fitness, security, home entertainment, automotive and automation industries. More than eight newBluetoothenabled products are qualified every working day and more than 19 millionBluetoothunits are shipping per week. There are nearly three billionBluetoothdevices in the marketplace and that number climbs daily, making it the only proven wireless choice for developers, product manufacturers, and consumers worldwide.
