Gilbert, AZ, United States., Painseville, OH, United States., January 3, 2012 - (PressReleasePoint) - The Bra Recyclers, a textile recycling company based in Gilbert, Arizona, recently extended support to Project Hope for The Homeless, located in Painseville, OH. The Bra Recyclers established this partnership in October during the company’s annual Bra Recycling Month event with the help of a local ambassador, Laura Hoffman, and local organization, Lake Health. Hoffman and Lake Heath hosted a bra drive to collect and recycle bras to the homeless women served by Project Hope for the Homeless.

Project Hope for the Homeless  serves an estimated 30 adults and children each month, providing emergency services to Lake County’s homeless population. “As an emergency homeless shelter, we often have guests enter the shelter with nothing. By being able to provide the women entering the shelter with a bra that will more than likely be in better condition than the one they enter with, we [are] able to help them restore some dignity and improve their self esteem”, Denise Jones, staff member at Project Home for the Homeless stated via email.

The Bra Recyclers mission is to encourage, inspire and “support” women and girls in need with a clean bra, while also reducing the number of textiles entering the waste stream.  “A  clean and properly fitted bra to wear is often furthest from the mind of homeless women and girls. Other priorities, such as food, shelter, and safety, are at the top of the list. The Bra Recyclers provide a simple encouragement to lift a homeless woman’s spirit, boost her self esteem, and ultimately help re-shape her life. Not only are we able to provide this important gift at the time of need, but bra recycling also helps delay the number of textiles entering the waste stream,” Birks-Mitchell said.
