Brigham and Women’s Hospital Physicians Named to U.S. News List of ‘Top Doctors’
U.S. News Media Group today announced the list of U.S. News & World Report’s Top Doctors, including 241 physicians from Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH).
Boston, MA – U.S. News Media Group today announced the list of U.S. News & World Report’s Top Doctors, including 241 physicians from Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH). The directory of nearly 30,000 peer-nominated physicians from across the country builds on the Best Hospitals rankings, in which BWH placed eighth this year.
“It’s an honor for the Brigham to not only be recognized on U.S News and World Report’s Honor Roll of America’s Best Hospitals, but also to have such a substantial number of our physicians recognized as Top Doctors,” said Elizabeth Nabel, MD, president of BWH. “Our physicians, and all members of the BWH community, are firmly committed to delivering the highest quality of patient care possible and it is gratifying to see them acknowledged as leaders in their respective fields.”To search the BWH physician database, use the Find a Doctor tool on the BWH website.
U.S. News Top Doctors was created in collaboration with Castle Connolly Medical Ltd., publisher of America’s Top Doctors and other consumer health guides. It draws from Castle Connolly’s database of Top Doctors, all recommended for their clinical skills by other doctors and individually vetted by a physician-led research team.
Castle Connolly assembled the roster of Top Doctors by soliciting nominations from physicians in academic medical centers, specialty hospitals and regional hospitals and physicians in private practice. Its research team then reviewed each nominee’s training, achievements and appointments, among other credentials.
“We believe this brings important information on excellent physicians directly into the hands of consumers,” said John J. Connolly, MD, president and CEO of Castle Connolly Medical Ltd.
