The Hayling Island website developed and owned by Brit-net Internet Marketing have scooped the "Pride of Place" award at the Hants Web awards.

Brit-net are very proud to announce that Hayling.co.uk is the winner of a prestigious 2010 Hantsweb award for “Best Pride of Place Website” in the 7th annual Hantsweb awards. The Best Pride of Place website award recognises outstanding contributions made by community websites to their local area.
The Hayling site was nominated alongside 100 other Hampshire based websites in this category. The Hayling site beat off strong competition from fellow finalists Destination Basingstoke and Bittern Park Community Information for the title of “Best Pride of Place Website 2010.”
The Hantsweb awards reward accessibility and great design that is focused on the needs of the end user. Hayling.co.uk was judged to be an example of excellence in the Pride of Place category, meeting and exceeding the aims of the service that is provided. The website, designed by Brit-net Internet Marketing gained an edge over its competitors for the exceptional way that it promotes, serves and engages with the Hayling Island community.
The ceremony was held in the planetarium of the Intech Science Centre in Winchester. The awards, run by Hampshire County Council and sponsored by Virgin Media Business, are open to any website based in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. This year the Daily Echo newspaper sponsored the Pride of Place award that was won by The Hayling Site.
Hayling had received nominations and been short-listed in various categories in previous years, but this was the first year that the site had made it to the final. Mat Bennett, Co-creator of The Hayling site said, “It's great to receive this recognition for the site. I think that it says a lot for the community of Hayling Island that people engage with local sites enough not just to make a site like this work, but for it to do so well in comparison with much larger communities”.
The Hayling site is both developed by and owned by Brit-net, a innovative website design, development and marketing agency based on Hayling Island.
