In today's economy, everyone is trying to save precious resources. Personnel have been quickly sacrificed to the budget gods, but it's still possible to find "hidden dollars" that don't require pink slips.
One way to find these dollars is to look at your warehouse inventory and other inventory items. Of course, you need a certain amount of inventory to run a business, but you may want to look at some automated ways to help track what your business needs truly are.
Over the years, companies have complied with Wal-Mart and the Department of Defense to use barcode tracking and RFID (radio frequency identification), but many of these companies have been slow to use the technology internally.
With a Windows Mobile platform, the price for "off-the-shelf" software has become affordable, so you can easily track your inventory or even your personnel. From products on the shelf to a service route delivery person, you can accurately determine where your dollars are going.
In this economy, it's critical that you are able to easily identify where you are spending dollars. The good news is that this technology has become easy to use and easy on the pocketbook. Remember, by automating both your inventory and personnel, you will save more than just hidden dollars; you'll save those pink slips as well.
