Buchanan & Edwards (BE) is proud to announce that one of its distinguished Project Server Engineers will speak at the Department of State’s (DoS) Second Annual Program and Project Management Community of Practice (PPMCoP) Forum. The event will be held in the George C. Marshall Center of the Harry S. Truman Building on Thursday, January 16, 2014 from 9:30am-1:00pm.
Buchanan & Edwards Project Server Engineer George Haney, Co-Chair of the PPMCoP Steering Committee, will speak for the second time at the 2014 PPMCoP Forum. Mr. Haney will be discussing the year ahead for the PPMCoP, highlighting goals and opportunities for involvement.
The theme of this year’s PPMCoP is “Managing Complex Projects at the Department of State,” and presentations will focus on how organizations are adapting by doing more with less. Under Secretary of Management Patrick F. Kennedy will provide opening remarks and Ambassador Rick Barton and Assistant Secretary Janice Jacobs will deliver keynote presentations on their experiences managing projects in complex, dynamic and multi-national environments.
The mission of the PPMCoP is to advance a practical understanding of program and project management at the Department, and to provide guidance for members as to how to gain added knowledge and skills, promote industry standards, and facilitate best practices.
“It is an honor to share the stage with key leaders at the Department of State. Knowledge sharing, like the PPMCoP, is a critical factor for innovation, and it is exciting to have our people sharing best practices with our customers and peers,” said Buchanan & Edwards CEO, Brian Karlisch.
