Seattle, Washington, United States., February 2, 2014 - (PressReleasePoint) -

Most hotels plan their renovations and makeovers, but for a group of Calgary hotels their transformation was completely unexpected. It was not only unexpected in timing, but in who was performing the transformation. The Canadian Football League was responsible for this hotel transformation.

“We have been looking for a quiet, peaceful place to hold our practices”, explained one of the team’s representatives. The team is not named due to their request for privacy and anonymity. “We tried numerous training facilities and sports centers, but they had way too many distractions. That was when we decided to make our own training facility.”

The team noticed that the group of Calgary hotels provided the perfect area for practicing. There were areas reserved for rest and relaxation, pools and spas, restaurants, and even an entire field for practicing.

“We had to make some changes to the hotels”, said the team representative. “We built an enclosure for the field. This prevents anyone from looking in on our practices and seeing what we are planning. We also had to expand the ballroom and some of the spa areas needed to be enlarged.”

The team put in their request for the ability to ‘rent out’ the entire group of Calgary hotels approximately six months in advance. The team requested an estimate on prices for renting out the entire hotel, not just a ballroom or a set of rooms.

“We have never had a request to rent out the entire hotel”, explained the guest services coordinator at the Calgary hotels. “We were a little shocked at first and thought that we misheard the request. That was when the individual started asking about the field, spas, and other areas. Most unusual.”

The price tag for renting out the group of six Calgary hotels is undisclosed. The hotels are currently operating as per usual, but the only clients are those that work closely with the team that has rented them out. It is unclear why the team needed six hotels and when asked the team representative declined to answer.

“That was a specific request made by the coordinators for the team”, explained the team representative. “I will not go into specifics of why it was made, but they did need several Calgary hotels. We found an owner of the hotels that was willing to work with us on this and we are proceeding with practice as usual.”
