Ahead of a debate in the House of Commons on Monday evening, the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign is calling on MPs from across the different political parties to support the progress and momentum towards the Government bringing before Parliament the regulations for the mitochondrial donation IVF technique.

The Muscular Dystrophy Campaign supports people with mitochondrial myopathies - muscle-wasting conditions caused by mitochondrial disease - and funded the development of the mitochondrial donation IVF technique at Newcastle University.

While the regulations have been consulted upon fully by the Government, a group of MPs is bringing forward the motion on Monday evening to seeking a delay the regulations on the mitochondrial IVF technique.

We are building up as much MP support as possible to speak during the debate against a delay to regulations and in favour of the technique going ahead.

If you would like to contact your MP to ask for their support for the technique's progress at the debate on Monday, you can find out your MP's contact details on the Parliament website.
