On Sunday March 30th at 2:00 PM at the Salt Pond Visitor Center, photographer Robby McQueeney, also known as The Dune Tramp, will present a 45-minute illustrated program using his photographs, paired with verses from Henry Beston’s classic book, The Outermost House, which captures the essence of the Outer Beach of Cape Cod.
McQueeney is the featured artist for March at Cape Cod National Seashore's exhibition series, Perspectives: Seeing Cape Cod National Seashore through Art, which also pays tribute to Beston and his Outermost House. His exhibition will be removed at the end of the day on March 30th.
McQueeney is an active preservationist of local history, especially associated with dune shacks and "dune culture." He is on the Board of Directors of the Henry Beston Society and is a long-time member of the Nauset Light Preservation Society. From his first visit to Eastham on Cape Cod as a fifth-grader, he became enamored with local history, leading him to document it through his photojournalism. His passion for the Outer Cape is evident on his website (www.dunetramp.com), at his frequent illustrated presentations, and in his new book, "Tramping the Dune Shacks."

The hydrologic system of lower Cape Cod consists of four distinct ground-water lenses, or flow cells, which receive recharge through precipitation. Other hydrologic features besides groundwater include kettle ponds, freshwater wetlands (vernal ponds), freshwater streams, and estuarine wetlands.
