Capita signs Cornwall Housing contract to provide key housing support services
Capita’s software services business has been awarded a 10 year contract to provide Cornwall Housing Ltd with its full OPENHousing software suite.
This will include the installation and implementation of housing software, and the training and project management of professional housing management services. The contract, secured following a competitive tendering process, will enable Cornwall Housing to store and access data about all of its properties and customers in one place. This will result in greater efficiencies across the organisation, benefiting both employees and residents.
The OPENHousing software will give residents access to the latest self-service tools, including a web portal that will offer a new channel for communication with Cornwall Housing to query rent accounts, report repairs, make payments and more.
Cornwall Housing manages over 10,000 houses, and with Capita’s OPENHousing software, it will be able to:
Emma Blatchford, head of resources at Cornwall Housing, said: “Our vision is to provide high quality homes and housing services to our residents, while at the same time being an innovative organisation that values its employees and customers. As we continue to strive for this, Capita’s software will underpin the day-to-day management of our properties and will help streamline and enhance the services that our residents use and receive – whether this is applying for a home, paying rent or reporting anti social behaviour.
“Not only will our residents benefit from this new software, but our employees will too as we continue to modernise our service delivery by introducing more mobile methods of working. The software will give them flexible options to work remotely from home or wirelessly across our communities while on-the-job.”
Roger Birkinshaw, housing director at Capita, commented: “With Capita's substantial experience in the housing market, we understand the challenges faced every day by housing associations. By improving data accuracy, efficiency and customer service, we look forward to working with Cornwall Housing to help them provide better support services for their customers.”
