Event will take place from 9 am – 1 pm

SAN ANGELO - The Texas Department of Transportation(TxDOT) San Angelo District encourages all caregivers to stop by for a free car seat inspection Wednesday, July 18. The inspection event will take place at the district headquarters office located at 4502 Knickerbocker Road in San Angelo.

Certified technicians will perform car seat inspections, provide tips and assistance on properly installing a car seat, and give details on the most common child safety seat errors. These include installing the seat too loosely, putting the harness straps through the wrong slots, leaving harness straps too loose, positioning the chest clip incorrectly, and using the wrong seat belt path.

TxDOT reminds drivers that Texas law requires all children under 8 — unless they are taller than 4 feet, 9 inches — to be in a car seat whenever they ride in a passenger vehicle.
