Carotech will share applications and benefits of TocoBev palm tocotrienol complex beverage powder at IFT

New Jersey, USA – Carotech Inc., the world’s largest and only GMP-certified tocotrienol producer, will be exhibiting at the 2011 IFT Annual Meeting and Food Expo at New Orleans Morial Convention Center, New Orleans, LA, USA.

Palm tocotrienol complex (Tocomin®, Carotech Inc.) has received FDA’s final notification of no objection for GRAS in April 2010, allowing it to be used in food and beverage products. New and emerging research studies revealed that natural full spectrum palm tocotrienol complex has far more significant health improvement potentials, compared to the conventional vitamin E alpha-tocopherol.

Clinical trials and human studies using the patented and bioenhanced palm tocotrienol complex Tocomin SupraBio® showed reduction of total cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol concentration, enhanced immune response after vaccination, helps in resolving non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and promotes hair growth. Tocomin SupraBio® is currently being used in an on-going largest clinical trial on tocotrienol for its effects in neuro- and cardioprotection.

Carotech will present a new product - TocoBev™15%, a water dispersible powder form of natural full spectrum tocotrienol/tocopherol complex. It is specially produced for formulation of functional drinks and powdered beverages. TocoBev™ 15% is produced from Tocomin® natural full spectrum palm tocotrienol complex. It contains the full spectrum tocotrienols as well as other phytonutrients such as plant squalene and phytosterols that are naturally extracted together with tocotrienols from virgin crude palm oil.

Partnering with the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) and Malaysian Palm Oil Council (MPOC), Carotech will exhibit at booths 4701 – 4703 at the IFT Food Expo 2011, June 11th – 13th, 2011.
