CLEVELAND, OHIO – September 8, 2009 – Cartesian Pictures, LLC has begun operations in Cleveland, Ohio to supply broadcast-quality, high-definition video production services to broadcast, corporate and government and non-profit customers. The company offers a choice of DVCPro HD and HDCam video taping formats to accommodate diverse customer preferences.

The company uses the Panasonic Varicam high-definition camcorder that records 720p images at frame rates ranging from 4 to 60 per second. The camera approximates a wide range of film stocks and permits “over-cranking” and “under-cranking” for smooth fast-and slow motion playback. Unlike film that has to be developed before results are seen, one can simply rewind the video tape and review footage immediately. This eliminates the need to schedule extra days and crew expense required for film reshoots... saving time and minimizing expense. The company also utilizes the Sony HDW-730 camcorder that boasts 1080i resolution at 24p and 60i playback.

“There are few companies in Northeast Ohio offering this combination of high-end cameras and formats,” explained Reginald Carter, Cartesian Pictures CEO. “The resolution of these two cameras also permits high-quality upward transfer to HDCam SR and film, and downward transfer to more prevalent broadcast formats such as Digital Betacam, DV, and Betacam SP. Mr. Carter built in-house broadcast production capabilities at Patio Enclosures, Inc. and served as its producer from 2003 to 2008, and operated In-Focus Video Productions from 1995 to 2003.
