IAAPA - Barco/PD Booth Award

Orlando, Florida is well-known as home to the world’s premiere theme parks and attractions, with the latest introductions showcased annually at the IAAPA Attractions Expo. Among the dizzying array of rides, multi-sensory experiences and other engaging activities, the Barco/projectiondesign booth won the award for “Best Interactive Technology” presented by Entertainment Design magazine. The “Reactable” housed within offered a multi-touch screen interface, functioning like an interactive DJ table to enable listeners to alter the sound quality and music by manipulating objects on the table.


Holovis’ “MotionDome” game, which utilizes four Barco/projectiondesign F35 AS3D active stereoscopic 3D DLP™ projectors, was also honored for “Best Simulation.” The dual-player, immersive dome game uniquely teams-up participants as co-pilots to take down the imaginary enemy on screen while driving through rugged terrain.

“Our projectors deliver extremely high-resolution and pin sharp imagery that produces striking realism for these types of virtual reality applications,” comments Richard Marples, Strategic Marketing Director, Venues & Attractions for Barco.

The Barco/projectiondesign booth is another great example of the “Joining Forces” campaign since Barco’s acquisition of projectiondesign in early 2013.  Thorough this attainment Barco has created a company that combines both of their respective strengths to offer the most comprehensive portfolio of projectors and visual display systems for multiple markets including theme parks and attractions.
