Chennai gears up for the 20th World Congress of the World Society of Cardio Thoracic Surgeons

Chennai’s Dr. K. M. Cherian’s Frontier Lifeline Hospital will play the host for 20th World Congress of the World Society of Cardio Thoracic Surgeons and the 6th Global Forum on Humanitarian Medicine in Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery.Mr. Al Gore, 45th Vice President of the USA and lead crusader for arresting climate change will partake in this event.

Dr. K. M. Cherian’s Frontier Lifeline Hospital is all set to host the 20th World Congress of the World Society of Cardio Thoracic Surgeons and the 6th Global Forum on Humanitarian Medicine in Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery.

The World Congress, conducted by World Society of Cardio Thoracic Surgeons (WSCTS) is a time honored and highly prestigious international scientific event. This annual conference witnesses the august presence and didactic participation of the best minds in the exacting science of cardiothoracic surgery, across the World.

The 20th World Congress is scheduled to take place from October 20 to 23, 2010 at the Chennai Trade Centre. This will set a global stage for presentations and discussions on the latest findings and techniques in the delicate branch of cardiac surgery. Over 1,000 delegates will be attending the conference, including 600 participants from over 40 countries.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. K. M. Cherian, Chairman & CEO, Frontier Lifeline said, “We are privileged to be hosting the 20th World Congress of the World Society of Cardio Thoracic Surgeons in 2010 for the first time in the country. Mr. Al Gore, 45th Vice President of the USA and lead crusader for arresting climate change will partake in this event. Mr. Al Gore will be delivering the Key Thematic Oration aptly titled, “Thinking Green”, reflecting the environmental theme for 2010 of achieving Green Goals; the World Congress has adopted ‘Global Green New Deal’ as the theme for the 20th World Congress and the 6th Global Forum this year.

Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad, Hon’ble Health Minister, Government of India will inaugurate the event as well as launch the Medical Exhibition during the occasion. We are privileged that Kalaignar Dr. M. Karunanidhi, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu is the Chief Patron for the event.
