Children enjoy AlRaffah Hospital Kid’s Camp
Muscat – The two-week long Kids Camp held at the Al Raffah Hospital premises generated an excellent participation from children who came in large numbers, to express themselves in talent competitions such as singing, fancy dress and painting, said Asma Khan, Manager – Corporate Relations of the said hospital.
“I am happy that with Al Raffah’s Kids Camp, my daughters found a unique way of interacting with other children of the same age. It gave them the opportunity to express themselves while having fun”, said Dr. Amal Upadhyay.
The Kids Camp which kicked off on October 25 was aimed at children aged 4-10 years old, to express their creativity through a series of competitions in singing, drawing and painting and a quiz contest.
“ The warm and welcoming hospital staff kept us constantly informed and made the children feel at home, “ said Pratibha Lara whose twin sons Harsh and Yash were both prize winners.
Dr. Suri, medical consultant of the Al Raffah Hospital graced the event and provided health tips to parents and advice on the advent of immunisation and vaccination. He likewise shed awareness on the common illnesses of children such as diphtheria, measles and other mild diseases.
The Kids Camp was a prelude to the opening of the hospital’s paediatric department, which was inaugurated on November 8, under the auspices of Ms. Shukur Bint Mohamed Al Ghamari, who heads the Omani Women's Association.
The hospital’s Chairman, Dr. Azad Moopen also graced the occasion and distributed the prizes to the winners from each of the talent competitions along with Ms. Shukoor, in a grand finale.
Among the winners was 6 year old Nyonika Cardozo...” I love prizes “, was her excited reaction; while prize winner Tarana’s mother Nandita smiled and added “The camp was very well organised. It was a welcome change to see the cheerful faces of all those involved in making it a grand success. “
