Celebrate National Poetry Month with a special weekend event just for kids
March 31, 2014
CHICAGO – “Poetry and Adventure” is the theme of this year’s Children’s Poetry Day, to be held Sat., April 26, from 10am to 1pm at the Poetry Foundation Library, 61 W. Superior St.
In addition to musical adaptations of poems by Adventure Sandwich and screenings of children’s films programmed by the Nightingale, a Chicago microcinema, this special weekend event will feature interactive activities including a scavenger hunt and a chance to explore the world of visual surprise through art making with staff from the Art Institute of Chicago’s museum education department. Refreshments will be provided courtesy of Whole Foods.
The event is best suited to children aged 13 and under. Please note that the Poetry Foundation will be open only to children and their parents or guardians during this event.
