CINEASIA/HONG KONG – (December 6, 2010) –Christie®, the global leader in visual solutions is delighted to announce thatChristie® MicroTiles™have been selected by the Seoul Broadcasting Station (SBS) for the control room scenes in “Athena: Goddess of War. ” The South Korean espionage drama broadcasts every Monday and Tuesday from December 13, 2010 to February 15, 2011 in South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore. Christie Korea and IMTEC, Christie’s premier Korean partner, completed the installation.
A spin-off of 2009s successful “Iris,” with a cast that includes Jung Woo-sung, Cha Seung-won, Soo Ae, and Lee Ji-ah, the budget for both series exceeds 20 billion won (US$ 17 million), making it the most expensive drama in South Korean history.

“We needed a special display canvas to show a futuristic and creative space for our TV set. When we first saw the output of the Christie MicroTiles at a demonstration, we were impressed with their beautiful color performance and high resolution, and we could easily imagine the various shapes of the display canvas we expect. It the best choice for our TV studio since MicroTiles are silent,” commented J.W. Lee, the art director of Athena.
”With its ground-breaking technology, Christie MicroTiles offer unparalleled flexibility as a digital canvas for designers to open up more room for creativity,” said Lin Yu, vice president, Christie Asia Pacific. “It’s almost-zero maintenance makes it highly attractive and environmentally friendly.
