Christie Stars in Korea’s Most Expensive Drama Ever Produced

CINEASIA/HONG KONG – (December 6, 2010) –Christie®, the global leader in visual solutions is delighted to announce thatChristie® MicroTiles™have been selected by the Seoul Broadcasting Station (SBS) for the control room scenes in “Athena: Goddess of War. ” The South Korean espionage drama broadcasts every Monday and Tuesday from December 13, 2010 to February 15, 2011 in South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore. Christie Korea and IMTEC, Christie’s premier Korean partner, completed the installation.

A spin-off of 2009s successful “Iris,” with a cast that includes Jung Woo-sung, Cha Seung-won, Soo Ae, and Lee Ji-ah, the budget for both series exceeds 20 billion won (US$ 17 million), making it the most expensive drama in South Korean history.

The control room set in the DIMA studio (Dong-Ah institute of Media and Arts) has 50 Christie MicroTiles in a 9 x 5 array with five additional tiles spaced every second tile across the top to create a hi-tech facility furnished with state-of-the-art communications technology.
