Ease of use, industry-best customer service fuel move to Chrome River

LOS ANGELES, August 19, 2014 – Chrome River, a leading provider of expense management and supplier invoice processing software, today announced that HARMAN International Industries, Incorporated, the leading global audio and infotainment group, chose Chrome River EXPENSE to replace IBM’s Global Expense Reporting Solution (GERS).

Harman, which designs, manufactures and markets a wide range of audio and infotainment solutions for the automotive, consumer and professional markets and supports leading professional entertainers and the venues where they perform, conducted an extensive Request for Proposal (RFP) process beginning in January, inviting leading vendors in the expense management space to participate. Requirements included global capabilities and support, ease of use for end users, confidence in the implementation team, and integration with other systems including SAP, Carlson Wagonlit and GetThere.

“Our choice of Chrome River EXPENSE was made in part due to the very user-friendly interface, easy configurability, and the clear commitment to impactful customer service – all aspects in which Chrome River was the clear winner,” said Sally Abella, Director of Corporate Travel at Harman. “While Chrome River is not as large as some of the other vendors we considered, we found that to be a benefit and our due diligence showed that it could support us as well as any large players in the space, along with a personalized level of customer care.”

“As Harman’s choice of EXPENSE demonstrates, Chrome River is an exciting enterprise solution that can help organizations take expense reporting to a greater level of sophistication while providing a far superior end user and approver experience, and we are very pleased that Harman chose our solution for their migration,” said Alan Rich, co-founder and CEO of Chrome River. “Because Chrome River has a proven track record with large, globally complex organizations, we expect to see continued interest from IBM GERS customers. We recently hired Jeremy Soto and Chad Mills, two leading IBM GERS implementation experts in order to work with customers like Harman that are migrating from IBM GERS systems.”
