CITYTECH jumped 1000+ places from 2013 and into the top 25 percent of ranked companies in it's third consecutive listing with Inc.

CHICAGO, August 20, 2014Inc. magazine today ranked CITYTECH, Inc. No. 1081 on it’s eighth annual Inc. 500 5000, an exclusive ranking of the nation’s fastest-growing private companies.  This list highlights the most important segment of the economy—America’s independent entrepreneurs.

CITYTECH is especially pleased to have earned this ranking in the top 25 percent of growing companies across the country in our last year eligible for the award.  CITYTECH, as of March 2014, is now a part of ICF International, specifically it’s Interactive division. CITYTECH was ranked on the Inc. 500 5000 at #3702 in 2012, followed by a #2171 ranking last year for 2013.

“It’s bittersweet,” says Company founder Janet Van Bergen, on the inclusion of CITYTECH in the Inc. 500 ranking. “We achieved a great amount of success as a small, private company, which ultimately lead us to the opportunity to become a part of ICF.  We continue to operate in much the same way as we ever have; every client and every partner has seen that carry over since our acquisition.

CITYTECH joins prominent return honorees Intuit, Zappos, Timberland, and Cliff Bar, among other new additions to the list, such as GoPro and ToughMudder.  In a flat economic environment, median growth rate of 2014 Inc. 500 5000 companies was a staggering 516 percent, up from the average 142 percent of last year.  CITYTECH boasts its own three-year sales growth spurt of 413 percent.  CITYTECH also joins the majority of top Inc. 500 companies where 90 percent site their CEO as a founder of the company.

“We are thrilled to have advanced another 1000+ spots on this prestigious list.  It’s a tremendous accomplishment and tribute to the many wonderful people we have working for us, making CITYTECH such a success,” says CITYTECH co-founder and CTO, Matt Van Bergen.

The 2013 Inc. 500 5000 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth when comparing 2010 to 2013. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2010. They had to be U.S.-based, privately held, for profit, and independent—not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies—as of December 31, 2013. (Since then, a number of companies on the list have gone public or been acquired.) The minimum revenue required for 2010 is $100,000; the minimum for 2013 is $2 million. As always, Inc. reserves the right to decline applicants for subjective reasons. Companies on the Inc. 500 are featured in Inc.’s September issue.
