In keeping true to their mission, New Jersey based Civic Duty is introducing its first “shoe for a cause”. The beneficiary is New Orleans based Common Ground Relief, an organization based in the Lower 9th Ward and established to assist residents in the aftermath of hurricane Katrina.

Civic Duty founder and designer Steven Weinreb is thrilled to be supporting this cause. “I spent some time volunteering with this incredibly dedicated group of young people last summer. Their genuine care for the displaced residents of the Lower 9th Ward was moving. I wanted to make a shoe that was fun and representative of the New Orleans spirit. “

Civic Duty is a socially minded footwear company that has pioneered the use of Tyvek material for its footwear collection. Tyvek, made by DuPont, is lightweight, water resistant, breathable, sustainable, and extremely durable.

Civic Duty pledges to donate 100% of the profits from the sales of this “shoe for a cause” to Common Ground Relief.
