Michael Clarke won’t play in today’s (August 25) One Day International against Zimbabwe after the NSW and Australian captain succumbed to a hamstring injury overnight.

Clarke sustained the injury after arriving in Harare and underwent a fitness test on Sunday during training.

Australian coach Darren Lehmann said the skipper would undergo further intensive treatment over the next few days with a view of being available to the second match of the tri-series against South Africa on Wednesday (August 27).

Clarke’s NSW team mates Brad Haddin, Nathan Lyon, Steve Smith and Mitchell Starc have all been named in the team to play today.

This will also be Lyon’s first ODI match since his last appearance against the West Indies in Kingstown back in 2012.

Australian team to play Zimbabwe – 25 August 2014 (5:30pm AEST, Fox Sports 2)

George Bailey (captain – Tasmania), Aaron Finch, James Faulkner, Brad Haddin, Mitchell Johnson, Nathan Lyon, Mitchell Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, Kane Richardson, Steve Smith, Mitchell Starc
