Cobra Group sets foot on Thursday Island
For The Cobra Group, no place happens to be 'no man's land'. The company, which has an enviable reputation in direct marketing, recently made news by setting foot on Thursday Island.
The tropical island, just 40 kms off the Australian mainland, has an approximate population of 3,500 and may not even feature in the list of many marketing companies. But Cobra made it to Thursday Island and did make it big there too; of course the term 'big' may not be apt, but given the market there, what Cobra did is no less than 'big'. A team from the company that arrived on the Island did venture to promote Pay TV amongst people there. The people there accorded a warm welcome to the team and showed much interest in them and their products. They signed up as the company's customers and appreciated the interest shown in them and their welfare. As a token of gratitude, the locals even presented the team with a calendar featuring all the local dignitaries.
The client for whom The Cobra Group had undertaken the trip has also expressed happiness at this move to further its marketing interests.
