Coffey appoints director of operations
(28 January 2009) Coffey International Limited today announced the appointment of Ms Debbie Goodin to the role of director of operations. Debbie is currently acting chief financial officer and will commence in the new role when Mr Urs Meyerhans starts as director of finance and chief financial officer on 2 February.
Coffey International Limited managing director Roger Olds said he was delighted Debbie had accepted the role and that her experience and talent ideally placed her to lead the Coffey group’s global operations.
“Debbie has done an excellent job as acting chief financial officer during the past eight months. During this time, she has worked closely with the Board and played a critical role as a member of the executive team which has been instrumental in helping to build the platform for growth from which Coffey will evolve to be a truly global company. Prior to this role, Debbie’s was also responsible for the successful completion of more than a dozen acquisitions for Coffey over the past three years.”
As of director of operations, Debbie will be responsible for ensuring all Coffey businesses deliver profitable growth and maintain a strong cashflow position, for driving efficiency across the group and mobilising Coffey’s workforce globally.
“The deep understanding Debbie has gained of the group’s operations around the world, the strong relationships she has forged with key staff and her proven financial rigour will stand her in good stead to ensure Coffey’s current and future objectives are met.
“Following a rigorous internal and external search I have no doubt Debbie is the right person to guide the company’s global operations,” said Roger.
Debbie said that she was looking forward to meeting clients over the coming months and working closely with the heads of the Coffey businesses to deliver the best outcomes for clients, staff and shareholders.
Debbie has held executive positions within Coffey for over three years, beginning with project management company Clifton Coney Group (now Coffey Projects) in 2005 and more recently heading the mergers and acquisitions team for Coffey.
Debbie was also intimately involved with the Company’s debt refinancing and other corporate development activities.
Debbie has almost 20 years of senior management, operations and financial management experience. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and has held senior finance roles with the State Government of Victoria, City of Melbourne, Ferrier Hodgson and Arthur Andersen.
