Next week sees the beginning of the Colchester Festival at Castle Park, from Saturday 12 to Wednesday 16 July. Essex will face Kent Spitfires in the NatWest T20 Blast, followed by four days of LV= County Championship cricket against Hampshire, starting on the Sunday.

Tickets for the NatWest T20 Blast match versus Kent Spitfires are now sold out with no tickets available on the day of the game.

However, you can still enjoy the Festival by purchasing tickets for the LV= County Championship which are still available for all 4 days – more information

Car Parking

 All parking will be on a first come, first served basis with a limited number of space available for Members and non-Members throughout the Festival. The car park will cost £5 for both Members and Non-Members for the NatWest T20 Blast (Saturday 12 July)., which will be open from 9am.

Parking for the LV= County Championship (Sunday 13 – Wednesday 16 July) will be free to Members and a cost of £5 for non-Members on all four days. There will also be a limited number of free disabled spaces for disabled badge holders throughout the Festival, which are strictly on a first come, first served basis.

Match Timings

NatWest T20 Blast v Kent Spitfires: Play is scheduled to start at 2:30pm with gates open from 12:30pm.

LV= County Championship v Hampshire: Play will begin at 11am on all four days with gates open from 9am for all spectators.

Hospitality at the Festival

Hospitality is still available for the Sunday of the Festival, which sees day 1 of Essex’s crunch LV= County Championship match against Hampshire. This day’s play is part of the Felsted Family Sunday Package, which allows you to dine with your family and friends as you watch the cricket together from the boundary edge. Enjoy a two-course meal, afternoon tea and superior viewing facilities in style with the backdrop of Castle Park.

The ticket also includes ground admission and a copy of the 100th Year Anniversary Festival Programme. Prices start from £45 + VAT for adults and from £15 + VAT for Under 18′s. Members’ Servery

Compliment your visit to Castle Park with a meal in the Members’ Servery which will be available for the NatWest T20 Blast match and day’s 1-3 of the LV= County Championship. This is priced at £12.50 for a main course or £16.00 for two courses*.

The menu for the Members’ Servery:

Saturday - Thai chicken curry with pilau rice, tomato, onion and coriander salad and naan bread dessert table

Sunday - Roast beef with roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, chef’s selection of vegetables and rich roast jus dessert table

Monday - Homemade beef lasagne with garlic bread and leaf salad dessert table

Tuesday - Lamb tagine with spiced couscous, feta spinach and olive salad and khobez bread dessert table

*There is a £5 discount on a two-course meal for 2014 Premier Suite Members

100th Year Festival Programme

There will be a special souvenir programme on sale for the Colchester Cricket Festival. Priced at £3.50, this 100th year anniversary programme is a bumper 52-page A4 edition which commemorates 100 years of Festival cricket at Castle Park. This programme covers both fixtures of the Colchester Cricket Festival versus Kent Spitfires and Hampshire with the low-down on both oppositions with statistics, player profiles and interviews with the key players!

The programme is available prior to the Festival at The Essex County Ground as well as on sale at each exit from Saturday plus the Festival retail shop.

Essex Cricket Retail

There will be a range of merchandise, replica shirts and equipment on sale at the Festival on all five days at Castle Park. Visit the shop located behind the Centenary Stand plus from the roaming merchandise sellers before and during play.

Pavilion Access

During the NatWest T20 Blast fixture, access to the Pavilion at Castle Park will only be granted to Colchester & East Essex CC members who make an application directly to their club. Essex County Cricket Club have introduced this policy because of limited access at this sold out fixture. However, there will be additional food and drink facilities within the Members’ area during the NatWest T20 Blast fixture.
