Collaborative Irish Language Dictionary Released as PDF

The Irish language dictionary IrishDictionary.org (http://www.irishdictionary.org) is now available as a free PDF download. The PDF is downloaded daily. The PDF automatically includes all validated entries of the collaborative dictionary.

IrishDictionary.org is a free to use Irish language (Irish Gaelic) collaborative dictionary. It is written and edited by the Irish language community online. The aim of IrishDictionary.org is to make available a free and open dictionary available to the online language community by leveraging the cooperative opportunities presented by the Internet.

The site was launched in August 2008. 2,200 word entries have since been submitted, with over 200 active members. One can register on the site to participate in the dictionary. There have been over 900,000 searches performed in the dictionary since the launch.

The dictionary is available through the Irish language interface at http://www.focloirgaeilge.ie .

The new PDF is available for download at http://www.irishdictionary.org/pdf/
