UNIVERSITY PARK—The Penn State College of Education is pleased to announce that it has entered social media competition known as March Like-ness, a contest where Big Ten schools/colleges of education compete to see who has the biggest social media impact. Nine other Big Ten schools (Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Nebraska, Ohio State, Indiana, Purdue and Maryland) are entered in this contest in order to claim the title of March Like-ness champion.
March Like-ness is all about social media. This year, the competition has expanded to include both Facebook and Twitter. The winner will be the college or school that acquires the most new likes on and the most new followers on between March 18 and April 7. The total number of likes/followers is irrelevant for this competition.
"To level the playing field — because some schools/colleges have 500 likes/followers, and others have 5,000 — the winner will be determined by the number of new likes/follows acquired during the contest dates," said Kevin Sliman, marketing communications specialist for the College of Education.
The winner will be declared April 8.

In addition, the college requests that fans share this competition to allow it to spread through the social media channels.
