When inventive ingenuity meets an abiding passion for water – as is the case at Hansgrohe – innovative products are not the only outcome. For 11 years now, the bathroom specialist has been collaborating with renowned photographers and with the advertising agencies Werbung etc. and bwiebrucklacher to create calendars so unique that they have quickly become collectors’ items.

This year again, the water aesthetes from the Black Forest play the role of passionate photographic executive producers. The London-based photographer James Meakin captured the images for the new Hansgrohe Calendar 2014 which celebrate the wealth of colours, shapes and textures encountered along the idyllic beaches of the Indian Ocean. “Colours of Water” is the title of the exhibition framing the calendar in a powerfully emotional setting. The exhibition is open for viewing at the Hansgrohe Aquademie, the company’s visitor centre in Schiltach.

The official opening of the exhibition took place at the Aquademie on November 7, 2013. Photographer Meakin was present at the event and signed the calendars. Opening speeches were given by Roman Passarge, Head of the Hansgrohe Aquademie, and Joachim Huber, Head of Hansgrohe Brand Communication. Guests who attended the opening at the Aquademie were able to purchase the limited-edition calendar for 15 euros. Proceeds from the sale will go to the Africa aid project Elimu4Afrika e.V. which, among other activities, is promoting the provision of sustainable supplies of drinking water and solar power in east Africa. James Meakin’s world of colours and images can be viewed until March 31, 2014. Entry to the exhibition is free. The accompanying programme featuring film evenings and guided tours is also free of charge.
