COMMUNITY ALERT
North Shore Gas Crews Tying in New Gas Mains in Highland Park and Libertyville
Waukegan, IL— Representatives of North Shore Gas want to alert residents of both Highland Park and Libertyville, as well as those in the surrounding communities, that there may be a strong odor of natural gas in the air over the next two days caused by work being done by North Shore Gas.
On Tuesday, October 25, North Shore Gas crews will be working to tie in a new section of a gas main in Highland Park, on West Park Avenue near Route 41, and on Wednesday, October 26, crews will be tying in a new section of main in Libertyville near the unincorporated village of Roundout on Route 176 near the Tri-state Tollway.
The tie-ins of the new gas mains require crews to release natural gas into the atmosphere.. The Highland Park tie-in will begin at approximately 6 a.m. on Tuesday and the Libertyville tie-in will begin at approximately 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday. The tie-ins will not affect service to customers.
While this tie-in work is taking place over the next two days, residents suspecting a gas leak inside or outside their home or business should not hesitate to call North Shore Gas to report the suspected gas leak.
