Funds to support Zoo’s efforts to increase visitation with seniors in local nursing homes and senior centers
The Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore’s (CFES) Carol Steffy Spirit of Esther Fund contributed $400 to the Salisbury Zoo’s Education Department. Funds will be used to support the Education Department’s senior visitation program.
Established in memory of her mother, Esther Sinnott Moore, Carol Steffy, a resident of the Eastern Shore, is building a legacy at the Community Foundation. She established the fund three years ago to encourage volunteerism and visitation in local nursing homes and senior centers while building capacity for existing senior care programs.

According to Steffy, “My mother wanted visitors when she was in the nursing home—that made her happiest.” Steffy continues, “Partnering with the Salisbury Zoo and their senior visitation program was a natural for me.”
