Thirty-three individuals from across the nation have been selected as winners of a competition to create free online resources to help students prepare for the revised Medical College Admission Test® (MCAT®) that will be administered in 2015. The contest was launched in partnership with the AAMC (Association of American Medical Colleges), Khan Academy External Link, and Robert Wood Johnson Foundation External Link (RWJF) in an effort to open new pathways to medical education. Entries were submitted by recent college graduates, medical, dental, and Ph.D. students, researchers, health care professionals, and faculty.

The winners—representing more than a dozen AAMC-member medical schools and teaching hospitals nationwide—will receive hands-on training with Khan Academy leaders to create new videos, questions, and articles for Khan Academy’s MCAT collection External Link. The collection provides free resources for undergraduate and pre-med students interested in pursuing health professions.

Since the first competition was launched External Link last year, content creators have developed more than 500 videos and hundreds of practice questions, with new content added each week. Videos in the MCAT collection already have been viewed more than 2 million times, with more than 1 million practice problems solved.
