Anyone wanting to ski when the snow is at its best may have to deal with harsh weather conditions. The wind, snow and cold set tough demands on the protection and thermal insulation of clothing. The fact that skiing gets you sweaty, whereas the lift ride cools you off does not make things any easier. What is one to do?
Salomon’s solution is based on the new climaPRO™ active fabric, which is the lightest and most breathable softshell around. “We instantly knew that climaPRO ™ active would fundamentally change softshell outfits. It was also clear we could design a functional product line based on the new fabric,” says Celine Classen, Product Manager in charge of Salomon’s apparel.
The new product line consists of a lightly insulated S-Line jacket, S-Line softshell jacket and an optional down inner jacket, as well as S-Line pants. The jackets are designed for active skiing, which occasionally makes you sweaty. Their cut enables a wide range of movement.
The jacket is insulated with PRIMALO FT®, while the down jacket is filled with the best down available.
“The first time you pull on both the softshell and the down jacket you find it difficult to believe how light the two are together. Nevertheless, they are warm enough even in heavy storms,” says Classen.
The pants are also made of climaPRO ™ active, which, in addition to its other great features, is also extremely elastic. The cut and look of the pants are a perfect match with the jackets in the collection.
