CompTIA Introduces Free Membership for its Academy Partner Program
Broad range of benefits related to IT careers and certifications available
London, 5 February 2013 - CompTIA, the leading provider of vendor-neutral skills certifications for the world's information technology (IT) workforce, announced today that it has introduced free membership for its CompTIA Authorized Partner Program for Academy Partners.
The CompTIA program assists academic institutions, non-profit organizations and government re-training agencies with a broad selection of resources to enhance the learning experience for students preparing for careers in IT.
"Our academic partners are doing great work in helping their students hone the attributes and skills employers find most valuable - the ability to think strategically, communicate effectively and understand how to use technology to meet business goals," said John McGlinchey, vice president, Europe and Middle East, CompTIA.
"But high demand for a new generation of IT professionals persists in many markets," McGlinchey continued. "Eliminating membership fees will open the doors of our academy partner program to more institutions. That means more students will have access to leading edge instruction and to the professional certifications that employers recognize and value."
The CompTIA Authorized Partner Program for Academy Partners is open to diploma or degree granting non-profit institutions, secondary schools, further education colleges, universities and government funded educational agencies. Membership is available to institutions in the following countries: Belgium, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, France, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Macedonia, Netherlands, Norway, Pakistan, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom.
Free membership had been introduced previously for CompTIA academy partners in North America.
Program participants gain access to a host of benefits related to IT industry careers and certification, including:
• Discounted pricing on student exam vouchers
• Special pricing for CompTIA Academic Events
• Access to leading IT industry research and best practices
• Instructor resources
• Marketing materials
Enhanced benefits are available to institutions that purchase more than £350 /400 Euro in certification vouchers. These additional benefits include complementary exam vouchers and eLearning options for their instructors.
All participants in the CompTIA Authorized Partner Program for Academy Partners are reviewed and approved by CompTIA to assure that they provide the most comprehensive certification exam preparation available in the marketplace.
A free webinar on the new program is scheduled for 21 February at 3:30 p.m. GMT. Visit CompTIA Events and CompTIA Authorized Partner Program for Academy Partners to learn more.
