Mettler Toledo introduces the DS Micro Flow Cell to enhance the measurement and monitoring accuracy of continuous flow chemistry

Columbia, MD [March 17, 2010] - METTLER TOLEDO recently announced the release of the DS Micro Flow Cell for the ReactIR™. The DS Micro Flow Cell is a seamless, in situ measurement and monitoring solution for continuous flow chemistry processing. The new DS Micro Flow Cell provides real time chemistry knowledge for virtually any class of compounds that other spectroscopy technologies can not provide. The flow cell, operated with Attenuated Total Reflectance (ATR) technology, is built for sub-millimolar sensitivity and is compatible with the broadest range of chemistry. An integrated temperature sensor allows measurement and trending of flow cell contents.

Continuous flow chemistry is valuable for improving product quality and yield. Combining the highly molecular specific nature of Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) to continuous flow chemistry enables researchers, scientists and engineers to quickly and easily develop continuous flow processes for their products that would otherwise be considered a traditional batch method.

The established iC IR™ real time reaction analysis software package allows an instantaneous view of reaction progression, dispersion characteristics and side-reactions with or without prior knowledge of the chemistry under development/production.

Gain further understanding of continuous flow chemistry by viewing the on-demand webinar “The Application of the ReactIR™ Flow Cell to Continuous Processing Technology” presented by Prof. Steven Ley, University of Cambridge.
