Convergys Gives Back to Local Schools

(Cincinnati, OH & Tamarac, FL; February 7, 2013) The month of January proved to be a month of giving back to the local Broward County schools for the employees at Convergys. The Convergys' Tamarac team donated numerous office supplies to the schools of Broward County, Florida.  These schools included: Riverside Elementary School, Excelsior Charter School, Everest Charter, West Broward School and American Eagle Academy. The donations included: over 100 office chairs, around 200 three ring binders, hanging folders, and desk trays. The Convergys Community Action Network (CAN) supports these initiatives throughout the entire Convergys' company. This is in line with the Convergys Value of giving back to our communities where Convergys' employees live and work.  

The Principals and Executive Directors were appreciative of all the supplies donated.  Due to recent budget cuts their teachers have been forced to purchase their own school supplies to teach the children of the Tamarac community. 

As a result of the donations, Convergys has laid the ground work to begin to build a strong partnership that will not only benefit our community schools, but employees as well.  To express his gratitude, Executive Director, Raul Baez has offered Convergys employees a 10% discount  to the American Eagle Academy, which offers the following:

•         Pre-School for ages 1-4

•         Free VPK Program

•         Before and After School Care

•         Spring, Summer and Winter Camps

•         Tae Kwon Do and Self Defense Programs

In addition, Mr. Baez has volunteered to offer a complimentary Tae Kwon Do, Self Defense and Motivational Workshop for Convergys' employees and is even willing to extend After School Hours if needed beyond 11:30pm.  This will assist employees  who work late evening hours.  This is a great partnership and Convergys is excited to see it evolve.
