Hemry, Hemry and McDoniel (HH&M) is a law firm in Oklahoma City that specializes in various areas of law including estate planning, probate and real estate law. As a busy local firm, HH&M considers its data core to its business. As such, backup and restore processes for HH&M are a serious matter. Understanding that it couldn’t risk data loss in the event of any disaster – including system outages, flood, fire or tornadoes – the firm took pro-active steps to protect its valuable information.

HH&M initially elected to backup their data online with an international company that offered a cheap price. Yet, this turned out to quickly be an unacceptable experience. When an event that required data recovery occurred, the international organization was unable to recover just 1.12GB in an adequate timeframe.

“After one day, eight hours and fifty-two minutes, the ‘backup’ provided by the international company was still not restored,” said Leslee Jaramillo, legal administrator for HH&M. “I immediately decided that this just wasn't going to work. I don't have three days to waste...this office is just too busy."

By coincidence, CoreVault happened to call Jaramillo right during her frustrating experience. CoreVault, who was initially being considered by HH&M when they selected the alternate solution, was checking back to see if the company was satisfied with their selection.
