Cortado, a leading innovator of the business class of cloud desktop services, today launched Cortado Corporate Server version 5.3, the newest version of Cortado’s core software that integrates smartphones and tablets into existing enterprise IT infrastructure. The trusted solution for cloud desktop services, Cortado Corporate Server now delivers enhanced mobile device management (MDM) with Apple Device Management, including easy management of mobile iOS devices that guaranteed required security levels. To take advantage of this, corporate customers do not need to have an Apple Enterprise Developer Program contract, something that most iOS MDM solutions require.

Many MDM providers focus purely on the areas of security and management, but offer no business functions for mobile device end users. By combining its key business functionality and MDM, Cortado customers can now pursue a completely different approach that enables secure set up and management of iPads and iPhones, while making the introduction of new devices into organizations simple.

In addition to offering its wide-ranging cloud desktop services for mobile employees, such as access and management of files and databases, creating PDFs and ZIPs, printing, and faxing, Cortado Corporate Server brings together the features of Microsoft ActiveSync (including remote wipe, password policies), as well as complete integration with the existing Microsoft Active Directory. This allows administrators to easily manage access rights to drives, printers, and databases and restrict or enable features per user or user group, such as downloading, deleting, or local printing.

“In addition to receiving a pure management solution from Cortado, our customers can also offer their employees a complete desktop for working on the road,” said Thorsten Hesse, manager innovative products, Cortado. “On the one hand we tackle the important aspect of security and on the other, employee productivity. All of this is available as an out-of-the-box solution. Users can download, install and get going immediately.”

When an employee thousands of miles away purchases a new iPad, they can be up and running with e-mail, corporate access, etc. fully meeting corporate security standards and all within a few clicks. In practice, the administrator initiates the iOS configuration tool in the Cortado Corporate Server console, where they can create, edit and manage different profiles. In these profiles, the administrator decides for example, how the e-mail account will be set up, how long the password must be, or whether the user can have use of Wi-Fi or the camera. The administrator then assigns these profiles to the respective users. The user opens an internal website with his unconfigured mobile device, logs on and clicks on his profile. The mobile device is then automatically and fully configured. The administrator can check in the console to see what profiles the user has downloaded.

Cortado Corporate Server 5.3 for the Apple environment, is available now and starts at EUR 795 for an environment with five employees, additional users cost is EUR 97. Alternatively, the solution can be rented for EUR 3.97 per month, per user (minimum of 30 users and 12 months). A fully functional, free demo version can be downloaded at:www.cortado.com/corporate.

Individual users who want to gain a first impression can download Cortado Workplace for free in all popular app stores for Android, iOS, Symbian and BlackBerry, and demo some of the features available:www.cortado.com/workplace.
