Cortado, a leading innovator of the business class of cloud desktop services, today introduced the latest features for enterprise Android users with the new Cortado Corporate Server version 5.3 to increase productivity of business users while on the go.

Cortado Corporate Server enables seamless and secure cross-platform integration of mobile devices into IT infrastructures. It allows business users to access the corporate network, create PDF and ZIP files as well as print and fax. Cortado’s Corporate Server 5.3 includes two significant and important feature additions for Android smartphone and tablet enterprise users. Cortado Corporate Server now enables a mobile connection to Microsoft Access databases, allowing reports to be queried according to parameters and data entered into the database from a mobile device. The new version of Cortado Corporate Server also includes document synchronization capabilities, allowing automated updates to occur between locally and centrally saved files.

Microsoft Access Database Connection

The mobile connection to Microsoft Access databases opens up entirely new application scenarios for mobile users. For example, a sales representative can create a report based on a customer number, a specific time frame or even a geographic area easily from their mobile device. Mobile reading of meters, and the instant generation of results or invoices, are just some of the possibilities available. The key to Cortado Corporate Server´s innovation is its ability to leverage the popular and widely used Microsoft Access tool, providing essentially no extra burden to the user for learning how to create forms.

Document Synchronization

The document synchronization features allow locally edited documents to be centrally saved so that the latest version is always available on the corporate network, and vice versa. This feature greatly improves mobile collaboration as local and central data of all parties involved in a project are always synchronized and up-to-date. This is especially useful for example when visiting a customer, as waiting for files to be transferred is no longer necessary. The data is automatically updated and available on the smartphone or tablet.

"These features are a quantum leap when it comes to using Android devices within enterprises", said Thorsten Hesse, Manager Innovative Products at Cortado. "Employees’ productivity, response times and their ability to react are all greatly improved. And with the ability to collect data on the go, Cortado Corporate Server is the ideal solution for all mobile employees needing to collect, edit and evaluate invoice related data."

Cortado Corporate Server 5.3 with the new Android business functions is now available. The starting price for a five-person environment is EUR 795, and EUR 97 for each additional user. Alternatively the solution can be rented for EUR 3.97 per month, and per user (minimum of 30 users and 12 months).
