LV= County Championship action returns to The Essex County Ground next week, when Kent are the visitors. The match starts on Tuesday 9 September at 10:30am (please note the earlier start time).

Essex still retain hopes of promotion to Division I, and know that 3 wins from their final 3 matches would put them in a very strong position. Kent are just 1 place below the hosts, and will be looking to ruin any chance of promotion.

The game also has some added significance – it is the final match in the Mike Denness Shield. Essex are currently in the lead, and will be looking to secure the shield with a win!

In other news, the Essex 2nd XI have won the SOunth Division of the 2nd XI Championship, and will play in a final against Leciestershire from September 16 to 19. Venue will be confirmed shortly, so keep an eye out on the website or on our various social media sites for the latest news!
