Couples Live Fit Program Off and Running

Wood Dale, IL September 7th, 200 (PressReleasePoint). On September 3rd, 2008, couples from the Wood Dale community particpated in a new fitness program at Goality Fitness Club called Couples Live Fit. The idea was created by Eric Su, the owner of Goality Fitness Club. "We were loooking for a new way to bring men into the facility and a way for the husbands of many of the women members
to see what their significant other was doing each day" says Su.

When working out, there are communication skills, teamwork drills, and partner exercies that come into play. When you have your best friend experiencing these workouts with you, the workout and the experience is appreicated more.

On the first day of the program, couples were asked to do super band running exercises. Picture a giant rubber band around your partners waist with the partner holding the other end. The person in the super band will be running, walking, or jumping while the person holding the other end is providing resistance. The energy system that is
being focused on here will be cardiovascular system and the muscle system in the legs. This exercise drill was enjoyed by all.

Another partner drill performed was the stability ball cruch with medicine ball toss. This was a core exercise that requried team work and focus. Since there was an object being thrown around, each person had to keep thier eyes on the ball. This exercise was fun for both people.

Above and beyond the exercises, each person was able to spend time with their loved one and helping themselves improve their health. Su says the class will continue and progress as the couples learn to work better together.

The class is offered on Monday and Wednesday nights at 6pm. The location is 236A E. Irving Park Rd. Wood Dale, IL 60191. The cost for non members is $11 per class.
