Court decision regarding import duties effects operating income (EBIT) of Kontron as an one-time expense up to 3 million Euros
Eching, Munich, September 28, 2009. Kontron AG lost an import duty law suit. According to a decision of today of the Finance Court of Munich, a part of Kontron embedded computers are subject to import duties for the past three years. The one-time extraordinary effect amounts up to 3 million Euros, which will effect the third quarter operating income (EBIT). Since the amount was already paid during the last 12 months, no cash outflow will happen. With regard to the ongoing legal dispute, the logistic procedure has been changed already and no future impact from this incident is expected.
