Critical Manufacturing and Pt have Been Selected for a Cmnavigo Implementation at Indasa
Indasa - Indústria de Abrasivos, SA selected PT Prime, in partnership with Critical Manufacturing, for the implementation of an innovative project to modernize the production control system of rolls and finished product (abrasive), supported by the cmNavigo solution.
Oporto, Portugal., February 7, 2013 - (PressReleasePoint) - Founded in 1979, Indasa is currently one of the European leaders in the production of flexible abrasives for automotive refinishing. Located in Aveiro, Portugal, Indasa has done over the years significant investments in technology, making it one of the most modern manufacturers worldwide. The challenges facing today's automotive refinishing businesses involve the adoption of innovative work processes to ensure efficiency and profitability within the highest levels of quality.
In order to meet these challenges and to support the growth of production lines and reels of finished product, Indasa intended to improve the management and production control system, making it faster, more efficient and increasing the production visibility, both in terms of equipment and materials produced and consumed. It was to the partnership formed by PT Prime and Critical Manufacturing that Indasa entrusted the cmNavigo implementation project that will last for 12 months. In fact, Indasa has recognized in this team the knowledge, experience and consulting approach on the manufacturing area, as well as the added-value of the cmNavigo solution.
With the implementation of cmNavigo, Indasa will be provided with an integrated system for production control, inventory and material consumption, fully interconnected upstream and downstream, meaning, both with the production line equipment and with the ERP. Touch screen interfaces are also included for the workstations, as well as other advanced features such as quality management, reporting and an attractive and interactive layout based visibility of the plant production performance.
Thus, Indasa will gain total visibility and control of the production lines: it will be possible to know, for each production order and each lot, which equipment has produced them, with which parameters/values collected from the equipment and which operators were involved in a given time slot. Traceability, operational information and efficiency are other very important benefits to be obtained.
Besides the fact that this is the first cmNavigo solution implemented in Portugal (covering an area of such criticality and potential for the industry as the shop-floor), the implementation of this project proves to be of great relevance for PT as it reinforces its position in the Information Systems national market area. Finally, this close collaboration between PT / Critical Manufacturing and Indasa will contribute to increase its competitiveness and thus maintain a leading position in high performance flexible abrasive systems.
